Blissful Whites Wednesday 1900's Bathroom

Before indoor plumbing, this is your modern bathroom facilities with all the latest accouterments. Can you just image what it was like to get all spruced up for the day?

left front: soap dish, shaving mug or drinking cup, tooth brush holder
below: slop jar

  1. Now this is what my grandmother had. No indoor plumbing at all. She lived on a small farm and when we went to visit her, I was always scared to use the outhouse but thought it was great fun to get water from the well and pump. :0

  2. What beautiful ironstone set! Love the pattern, and I don't think I've ever seen a complete one like this. I once lived without running water for a year. A few extra steps is all. (I can say that now... haha)

  3. That is so pretty--and the white is restful, serene.

  4. Your bathroom set is very beautiful and a treasure to keep!

  5. What a delightful blog you have! Sorry I haven't come over quicker. I'll be following you, too.
Would love for you to join our Country Whites Weekend, beginning first thing Friday morning (Feb 15). Just go to The Country Farm Home and link up!
    Hugs from the Farmhouse,
